Love of the written and spoken word
I suppose like many people, I have strong, enduring, and emotional memories embedded in the tall tales, stories, and fables, I heard as a child. As I grew up (and some may say I still haven’t), I realised the power of words, stories, and language. These amazing tools, that allow you to better understand people and their stories. In the hands of a gifted writer, we learn the motivations and inner thoughts of the characters, their lives, their hopes, their dreams. Through this intimacy we can truly love or hate, empathise, and grow with the characters in the story. We become so entrenched in the narrative that we are moved by their fates and consequences of their lives, their actions and interaction.
Not surprisingly my career has always been centered around words and language. I have a foundation and background in journalism, but I found myself writing poetry. These books of poems were put to music and having released a couple of albums I went on tour.
I told stories on the Swedish radio about moving from the city to the countryside, and in the program Pissekvart I performed poetry and played music. These radio slots opened the door to the wonderful world of narrations and how I found myself in the privileged position of being chosen to be the author’s voice and the reader's eyes.
Love of the Countryside
I'm a husband and father, 40 years old, spending more time with animals than with humans – horses and dogs in particular.
My wife and I run a small family stud, breeding Arabian horses, a few foals per year. The daily farm work brings a lot of joy, and we had a proud moment when top ranking at the world championships 2014.
For many years I said “no”, when my wife suggested moving to the French countryside. I guess I was being stubborn, but she was as ever, absolutely right. (Sorry for not saying “yes” sooner my love.) Now I prefer not to leave the farm ... It's funny how you can change, and I realised it can be good, great even. So, for me adapting became the key, and I finally figured out my recipe for a good life: living and working in one place where I love spending my days.
Born in Stockholm, I moved to the Swedish countryside first in Askersund and then Österlen. Finally leaving Sweden for the Atlantic coast in Normandie, France. It's my place to grow and flourish and I have a sense that this is where I am meant to be. I intend to grow old disgracefully, right here!
Love of Education
Not surprisingly as an ex-teacher I am a big fan of education. I am inspired by so many of the books I read and narrate to learn more about an event or period in history, or an idea or movement.
As of today, my great educational joys are, to name but a few; journalism, pedagogy, philosophy, contemporary history, drama classes, sustainable development, leadership, quality and improvement, organization, coaching, languages (Swedish, German, Spanish, French), motivating interviews, CBT basics and so the list will grow and I shall have to leave the list there, or I will end up spending more time editing this page than anything else!
